Alexis is an esteemed, award-winning television news journalist, innovative paralegal, and advocate for inclusivity. With an unwavering commitment to amplifying the voices of underserved communities, Alexis spent a decade producing countless breaking news and feature stories for NBC’s Today Show.

She now practices as a paralegal focusing on general litigation in Los Angeles.

Graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the distinguished Howard University, Alexis embarked on a journey fueled by an insatiable curiosity about the world and a passion for sharing meaningful stories. It is this profound belief in the power of storytelling that has driven Alexis to consistently seek out and shed light on narratives that would otherwise remain in the shadows while focusing on empathy, impact, and accuracy.

Alexis won an Emmy Award in 2020 for her work as a segment producer with Today Show and earned five nominations, most recently in April 2026.

Throughout her tenure with NBC News, Alexis’s work spanned the gamut. In addition to covering breaking news, politics, consumer affairs, weather, and entertainment, she also reported on notable civil and criminal trials. The same undercurrent remained — everywhere you look, there is a story.

With a passion for service, impact, and advocacy, a strong foundation in analysis and strategic communication, and a deep reverence for law cultivated by her news coverage experience and daily interactions with NBC News’ legal team, Alexis chose to formally pursue an education in Paralegal Studies.

She graduated with distinction from UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, maintaining a 97% grade average while working full-time in the newsroom. In accordance with California’s Business and Professions Code,

Alexis is permitted to practice as a Paralegal in the state of California.

Alexis aims to explore the parallels between media and law through policy analysis, legal research, and litigation support. Her multifaceted background provides an innovative approach to her work and her deeply-held belief that everyone has a story and every story matters.  

The fun stuff: Alexis enjoys writing, reading a good hard copy book, feeling the sun on her face, and fine-tuning her green thumb. Her interests include pop culture, reality television, podcasting, holistic wellness, and as a certified makeup artist, she’s into all things beauty. Most importantly, Alexis loves anything and everything to do with Beyoncé.
