“"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language. That may be the measure of our lives."”

— Toni Morrison

Alexis is an esteemed Emmy Award-winning television news journalist and advocate for inclusive storytelling with an unwavering commitment to amplifying the voices of underserved communities. For nearly a decade, Alexis has produced countless stories for NBC’s Today Show.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the distinguished Howard University in 2015, Alexis embarked on a journey fueled by an insatiable curiosity about the world and a passion for sharing meaningful stories. It is this profound belief in the power of storytelling that has driven Alexis to consistently seek out and shed light on narratives that would otherwise remain in the shadows.

By approaching each story with an open mind and an empathetic lens, Alexis has provided a platform for those who have been marginalized, giving them the opportunity to share their truths and be heard on a broader scale.

In the Spring of 2025, Alexis found herself called to do more than tell stories. She felt a deep desire to defend them. Having a deep reverence for law and experience in the legal space throughout her work in the newsroom, Alexis decided to enroll in UCLA Extension’s Paralegal Training Program. The program, one of the first of its kind approved by the American Bar Association, is bolstered by UCLA Extension’s reputation for prestige. Alexis aims to explore the parallels between media and law, and their influences on our society.

In accordance with California Code and upon completion of the program in September 2025, Alexis will be permitted to practice as a Paralegal in the state of California.

The fun stuff: Alexis enjoys writing, reading a good hard copy book, feeling the sun on her face, and fine-tuning her green thumb. Her interests include pop culture, reality television, podcasting, holistic wellness, and as a certified makeup artist, she’s into all things beauty.

Most importantly, Alexis loves anything and everything to do with Beyoncé.
